Death in childbirth

Our last post linked to stories of women who survived terrible medical mistakes during childbirth due to doctors and nurses not following simple steps to detect and stop hemorrhaging after birth, or not recognizing and treating high blood pressure during pregnancy, during birth or in the time right after a woman has given broth.  The link in today’s blog takes you to a story of a woman who did not survive the medical mistake – despite sky high blood pressure readings in the ER, nurses delayed in even getting her into a room to be seen until it was too late.  Even though the hospital settled the medical malpractice lawsuit, the victim’s three daughters must still grow up without a mother.
