Do you know your hospital’s childbirth complication rate?

April 1, 2019

Military hospitals generally perform more poorly and have more complications than leading civilian hospitals

Last week we posted about USA Today’s efforts to publish “secret” data about the rate of severe complications during childbirth at hospitals around the country. Here is the link to their findings in the only 13 states that would release the data.

This data does not include any military hospitals in those 13 states, but a New York Times article published in 2014, found that many of the then 54 military hospitals in the U.S. and overseas compared poorly to leading civilian hospitals on measures of safety in maternity care.

All pregnant women should have access to safety data about the hospitals where they plan to deliver their babies and we applaud the efforts of these journalists to get this information into the hands of all expectant mothers.  If you or your baby were injured at any Army, Navy or Air Force hospital anywhere in the world, we can help.  We have been successfully handling military birth injury cases for over 30 years.
