High-Risk Pregnancies Increase Risk of Birth Injuries

While expecting the birth of a new child is a wonderful time for women and their families, unfortunately, some women have complicated, high-risk pregnancies that will require special attention and potentially even special medical care before, during and after the birthing process. • Prolapsed umbilical cord, the umbilical cord is wrapped around the baby’s neck, or other umbilical cord accidents

In the event that a mother has a high-risk pregnancy and doctors fail to diagnose or properly treat the mother or infant:

• The infant has a significantly increased risk of developing serious, potentially irreversible birth injuries.
• The mother and baby will likely have a legitimate medical malpractice claim against the negligent or reckless doctor(s), nurse(s) and/or other medical professional(s).
