Early diagnosis in lung cancer- and other cancers as well- gives the best chance of survival, but this new study gives hope to those who are diagnosed with late stage cancer.

In a study reported today in the Washington Post, patients with late stage lung cancer getting immune therapy plus chemo were found to be 51 percent less likely to die, compared with patients getting chemo only. One of the researchers stated that “[i]mmunotherapy is rapidly, in combination with other treatments and on its own, dramatically changing the standard of care for lung cancer,” Scientists who weren’t involved in the study agreed that it was highly significant, saying, “[i]t is literally practice-changing — immediately.”

Even the best of care for advanced lung cancer, however, is not as effective as catching it early before it progresses to a late stage.  If an Army, Navy or Air Force doctor missed your lung or other cancer, we can help.  You may call us at 1-877-695-8757 (24/7), e-mail us at LawHelp@MilitaryMedicalMalpractice.com or fill out the short form on the right side of the page.  All consultations are free and confidential.  There is never any fee unless we get compensation for you.
