Anne E. Brown is an attorney practicing exclusively in the areas of military medical malpractice and military birth injury litigation in all branches of the service including Army, Navy and Air Force. As a former high-risk labor and delivery nurse, she has unique experience in cases involving birth injury and brain injury to babies during birth. Over the past 30 years, her work has resulted in millions of dollars in settlements and verdict awards for her injured clients.
“As a nurse in a high risk labor and delivery unit I got to work one-on-one with families going through the most incredibly intense and usually most incredibly happy moment of their lives. When the medical care provided was good and appropriate it was a beautiful experience. However, I also did see things go wrong. The overwhelming grief and a realization of the lifelong impact such a tragedy would have on not only the injured baby but the entire family as well made me want to help. For the past 30 years that is exactly what I have been doing-getting justice for military families around the world while hopefully making military healthcare safer for everyone” – Anne E. Brown JD

PUBLICATIONS
Ms. Brown has published in both the medical and legal arenas. For example, her work in the area of newborn screening malpractice led her to co-author, with doctors from Harvard Medical School and Johns Hopkins University, a medical article that was published in a leading pediatric journal, The Journal of Pediatrics. She also had a closing argument she wrote in a breast cancer case published in a trial practice manual.
“For what it’s worth, I evaluate the competency of the Plaintiff’s lawyer when making a decision to settle and determining the amount of settlement. But for your abilities this case would not have settled.” -Defense lawyer
“I thought your closing argument was as effective piece of legal writing as I have ever seen.” – Attorney author of trial practice book
“Congratulations on an outstanding result in this case. In the hands of lesser counsel this case may not have produced half the result you obtained.”-Well-respected Plaintiffs lawyer
“Let me commend you on your exceptional handling of this case. Your professionalism, preparation and skill in handling this difficult case made it an honor and privilege to preside over this case.” -Federal judge at the conclusion of a trial
